About our workshops: We are both fully-trained workshop leaders and are CRB checked. Our workshops can be adapted to suit all ages, abilities and instruments. Nick spent two years training as a community musician with Wren Music. He has led workshops at folk festivals, schools and youth clubs. He teaches both fiddle and guitar and continues to work for Wren on a part-time basis. Becki has a degree in Performing Arts (specialising in Community Music) from the Liverpool Institute of Performing Arts. She also teaches fiddle and works part-time for Wren Music. We are currently running a weekly folk orchestra at the Plough Arts Centre in Torrington. We also lead "ReCyc", a youth junk band based in Barnstaple. For more info on both of our regular workshop sessions visit Wren Music. Examples of previous workshops: "Tunes from the West Country": instrumental workshop using repertoire from the William Andrew manuscript from Devon. Baring-Gould Folk Festival 2005. "Fiddle Chords Workshop": using fiddle for accompaniment. Wren Fiddle Day 2006. "Getting the Groove": playing with rhythm, body percussion and arrangement (youth workshop). Bideford Folk Festival 2006. |
